We’re big fans of Zemanta – it provides producers with related content from across the web so we can enhance the site for our followers. For example, we can easily drop in images and keyword links – like the one above.

Today we learnt that Zemanta is launching a “public semantic API“. In layman terms an API is an application programming interface. It means Zemanta’s latest API can now “query” more sources to provide sites with even more related links and content.

According to a post from Andraz Tori, CTO at Zemanta, “its technology is now teamed up with dbPedia, Freebase, MusicBrainz or Semantic CrunchBase.” In future, we’ll be able to draw content from these sites.
